Information and Procedures
We are pleased to welcome you to our International Guest House and to the Agricultural Campus (AC) of Dalhousie University. We hope your stay with us is a pleasant one. In order to make your stay run smoothly, we have a number of procedures relating to day to day operations. If you have any questions or concerns during your stay, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Our staff is pleased to give you an orientation on the day to day operation of the house and will conduct this as soon as possible after your arrival.
The Guest House is a 2-bedroom bungalow located in a residential area of Bible Hill, NS. The house is conveniently located within a few minutes walking distance from the main AC campus. The house provides guests with the opportunity to live in a Canadian neighbourhood and experience our culture and daily living.
Kitchen
The kitchen is available for all guests to use to prepare meals and snacks. A dining area is located just off the kitchen. We ask that you keep the kitchen and dining areas clean for other guests' use. There are cleaning supplies underneath the sink. It a good idea to make sure any food you keep in the refrigerator is clearly marked so it doesn’t get used by other guests.
Living area
The living room is a great place to relax and socialize. The television has a wide variety of channels available and there is a desk located in this area as well.
Bathrooms
The house has two bathrooms - a full private bath with the premium room and second full bath that is open to all guests. We ask that the shared bathroom be kept in good condition for the other guests to use as well. Cleaning supplies are located underneath the sink.
Bedrooms
House has one premium room equipped with one single and one double bed, and one standard room with 2 single beds. Each room is equipped with a small fridge. Bed linens and towels are provided. Guests are responsible for laundering linens during extended stays. Our housekeeping staff will take care of laundering linens after guests check out.
Laundry
There is a washer and dryer located in the basement. There is no additional charge for laundry access and detergent will be provided.
Telephone and Internet
There is a telephone in the house for local calls. To make a long distance call guests must purchase a calling card. Wireless Internet is provided free of charge and we ask that guests observe the Computer Use policy found in the International Guest House binder.
Smoking and pets
The International Guest House is a non-smoking facility. An open air smoking area is available outside the house. Pets are not allowed.

Fire, Police, Ambulance, Poison Control: DIAL 911
When you call ‘911’ you must provide the civic address of the emergency.

Fire extinguishers can be found in the kitchen (on left as you come in) and basement (near bottom of stairs). Please familiarize yourself with these locations. Information on emergency phone numbers can be found on the desk in the living area next to the phone.
