We are continuously working to create opportunities for all the students at Dal AC. We currently have 40+ fully or partially funded global education opportunities for this year, including summer course with credit, internships and exchange opportunities. Check out the information and application links to apply for the opportunities that interest you. Apply as soon as possible.

The International Office supports outbound Dalhousie students interested in going abroad through the processes of preparing for departure, applying for financial assistance (where eligible), staying in contact while students are abroad, and re-entry supports.

Field Courses

IAGR 3000 Tropical Agriculture (3 Credits)

Where: Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore, India

When: Summer 2020 (Tentatively in May 2020)

Duration: 3 weeks

Funding Opportunity: Guaranteed $1000 funding for first 15 students, other need based financial aid are available.

Eligibility: 1st-4th year undergraduate student

(Student need to come back to school at least for a semester after the program)

Required Major: Any major can apply

Number of positions: 15-20

 

ANSC3007 African Wildlife Ecology (3 Credits)

Where: Amakhala Game Reserve, Addo Elephant Park, Mountain Zebra National Park, South Africa

When: Summer 2020 (Tentatively in May 2020

Duration: 3 weeks

Funding Opportunity: Need based Financial aid is available.

Eligibility: 2nd or 3rd year students. 4th year students can apply if they are returning for fall, 2020

Required Major: Any major can apply

Number of positions: 15

Pre-requisite: BIOA 1002 and BIOA 1003

 

Internships

Uganda Skill Development Project (USDP) Internship

Where: Uganda

When: Spring/Summer 2020 (April-September)

Duration: Varies (2 weeks to 6 weeks)

Funding Opportunity: Fully funded (covers flight, accommodation, meal etc.)

Eligibility: 2nd or 3rd Year student

Required Major: Any major can apply

Credit Option: Yes (Option to register in AGRI2001 Internship or Special Topics Course in consultation with course instructor)

Number of positions: 3

 

Dal AC Ambassador Program

Where: Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University, Fuzhou, China

When: April 2020

Duration: 1 week

Funding Opportunity: Fully funded (covers flight, accommodation and meal)

Eligibility: 2nd -3rd year undergraduate student

(Students involved in campus activities e.g. RA, O-Leaders will given preference)

Required Major: Any Major

Credit Option: No

Number of positions: 2

 

Exchange/Semester Abroad

Where: Participating Universities in Australia, Brazil, China, Denmark, England, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Malta, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Scotland, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, United States, United Kingdom

Duration: Varies (1 semester or 2 Semesters)

Funding Opportunity: Need based financial aid is available

Eligibility: 1st-4th Year, (Student needs to come back to school at least for a semester after the program)

Required Major: Any major can apply

Credit Option: Yes

Number of positions: Depends on the university chosen
