Nanostructures

Research area three: plasmonic nanodevices

Metal nano-antennas to enhance scattering, absorption or fluorescence via photon-plasmon interactions will be developed. They have applications in nanoscale imaging, tip-enhanced Raman spectroscopy, and near field scanning fluorescence microscopy. The goal is to incorporate nano-antennas with tailored plasmon resonances into functional optical nanodevices.

Results from this group will feed into application activities of other projects in telecommunications and energy, and the trainees will have great opportunities to interact, collaborate and benefit from the exposure to various disciplines.
