James E. Holloway, Jr. Memorial Award

With the unexpected passing of Dr. James (Jim) Holloway, Jr., in August , 2006, the  Department of Spanish and Latin American Studies established a fund to honour his memory.

At the discretion of the Dalhousie Department of Spanish and Latin American Studies, and in honour of Dr. Holloway’s life-long commitment to and passion for Latin American literature, an award may be granted to a student who:

• will graduate with an Honours degree in the Department of Spanish and Latin American Studies
  
• has demonstrated a consistently high level of achievement in literature courses
  
• has successfully completed an honours thesis in the Department in Latin American Literature
