Dalhousie has released version 2 of the University Climate Change Plan for Operations. A key climate adaptation strategy is to secure back-up power while exploring low carbon solutions. Dalhousie currently has diesel back-up generators for some of our properties, for some systems, but not all.
The Dalhousie Office of Sustainability, in conjunction with Facilities Management, is working with a consultant to identify and record back-up power problems, needs and opportunities at our Halifax and AC campuses. A particular focus will be on core university functions such as research.
As part of the study, this campus-wide survey will collect direct information from Dalhousie faculty, staff and students on this topic. This survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete. In addition, if you would like to provide information and comments via email or set-up a meeting with the study team please email rethink@dal.ca.
The survey is open from Wednesday, November 3, 2021 to Friday, November 17, 2021.
The survey is available at: https://surveys.dal.ca/opinio/s?s=64848
