New community sites are being added as they are completed so check the site directory often for updates.
Highlights of technology things you should know
- All on-campus IT services, including the help desks, are fully operational. Find a list of help desk locations on campus as well as online and telephone support.
- Physical computer labs and information common areas are open.
- Virtual computer labs are available 24 X 7 for anytime, anywhere access. Save a trip to campus and try out the virtual labs.
- Learn more about information security best practices. Be savvier online; don’t be phished.
- Learn more about wireless access on campus or at other affiliated institutions through eduroam.
Faculty and Staff
- Do you need a new computer? We encourage you to purchase or lease ITS standard desktops/laptops, which come with ongoing service and support for the life of your computer.
- Reminder about Dalhousie’s Information Security Classification Standards [PDF] and Electronic Information Storage Guidelines. Managing and protecting university information is everyone’s responsibility.
- Protect your Dalhousie account and sign up for Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). This will add an extra level of security when accessing your Microsoft 365 applications.
- View the Technology checklist to ensure your team has the technology it needs to return to campus.
