Pets of Dalhousie: Meet Nacho and Dorito

Posted by Communications, Marketing and Creative Services on June 9, 2021 in Community Highlights

Meet Nacho and Dorito, two kitties who live with Stephanie Brown, digital communications specialist in the Faculty of Health.

Names: Nacho and Dorito! They were named by a friend of mine who fostered them, and I just loved the names so much. Nacho is the fluffy orange and white cat, and Dorito is orange and stripey.

Nicknames: I am a ridiculous nicknamer, so I won’t list them all but Nacho gets called Nach, Nachy, Bacho and Bubby to name a few. Dorito is Dito, Wito, and Bubby as well (probably a bit confusing for them).

Species/breed: Nacho is a medium hair tabby but he would prefer to be referred to as the Ultimate Floof Supreme. Dorito is very orange.

Age: They just turned one in March!

Fave food: Nacho will beg for human food scraps but doesn’t actually like any of it. Dorito on the other hand is a little hoover and seems to love Cheerios.

Special tricks: Nacho is the best at chasing nerf darts, and Dorito can jump amazingly high.

Best quality: They are the sweetest work-from-home companions and always pop in to say 'Hi'i on my video calls. The jury is out on who will have more separation anxiety when I’m back on campus, me or them.

Social media platform or handle: You can find them on TikTok or Instagram at @thatsnachodorito. Their first TikTok has more than a million views now! It’s so cool to think that people all over the world are watching them.
