Dalhousie Commerce students sleeping out to raise awareness and support

Posted by Faculty of Management on March 12, 2018 in General Announcements

For the fifth year in a row, the Dalhousie Commerce Society (DCS) will forego the comforts of home and sleep outside the Rowe School of Business for the 5 Days for the Homeless campaign. 5 Days for the Homeless is a national initiative that started at the University of Alberta in 2005 and has raised over $1.9 Million nationally to fight youth homelessness. Dalhousie University is the only university east of Montreal taking part, and the Commerce Society has set a goal to raise $25,000 for Phoenix Youth Programs this year.

The 5 Days for the Homeless – Dalhousie campaign will begin on Sunday, March 11th and will continue through Friday, March 16th. 3 dedicated students will be sleeping outside of the Kenneth C. Rowe building for the duration of the campaign, encouraged by the kindness of the Halifax community.

Opening and closing ceremonies will begin at 12:00pm on Sunday, March 11, 2018 and 12:00pm on Friday, March 16, 2018 at the Kenneth C. Rowe Building respectively.

Join the Dalhousie Commerce Society in supporting Phoenix and the amazing work that they are doing within the Halifax community. Follow the campaign on Facebook: 5 Days for the Homeless – Dalhousie or at the website: www.5days.ca/dalhousie. You can donate by stopping by the Rowe building during the campaign or using the online donation form.
