DEPARTMENT/LOCATION: School for Resource and Environmental Studies (SRES)
RATE OF PAY: According to the CUPE Agreement
WORK ASSIGNMENT: The sessional instructor will teach MGMT 1702 - Ecosystem Goods and Services, a required course taken by all first year Bachelor of Management students, during the 2016 winter term. The course is offered to approximately 200 students and is delivered through weekly 80-minute lectures (scheduled Thursdays from 14:30 to 16:00) and via tutorials scheduled throughout the week. Lectures are to be delivered by the course instructor while tutorials are led by up to six teaching assistants (TA) whose efforts are coordinated by a head TA but substantively overseen by the course instructor.

The Calendar entry is as follows:
“The course explores the ecosystem goods and services on which our societies and economies depend, and the environmental basis of those goods and services. The course will cover the nature and function of: matter, energy, ecosystems, primary producers, natural resources, biodiversity, ecological footprints, and feedback loops; and their importance for managers.”

REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION: PhD and/or Masters with equivalent experience in related discipline. Strong understanding of -- and experience with -- the ecosystem goods and services framework, ideally through applied or research work. Prior experience in undergraduate teaching is a strong asset.
