“A pilot study of the ripple effects of Interprofessional Education (IPE) in long-term care: Exploring the impact on staff” is a Dalhousie University, Faculty of Health Professions Research Development Grant. This pilot study aims to identify, from the perspective of staff, how health professional training and IPE experiences within a local nursing home have impacted that long-term care community. Specifically, the goal of the project is to complete key stakeholder interviews with various members of the care team to pilot questions and gather preliminary data to assist in future evaluations. This research focuses on the activities of the Collaborative Learning Centre (CLC) at Maplestone Enhanced Care. The CLC is the result of a partnership between Dalhousie University and Shannex, a long-term care provider.

The Research Assistant will work with the collaborative research team, which consists of academic partners from Dalhousie University and partners from the long-term care sector.

Duties:
• Schedule and conduct key stakeholder interviews
• Transcribe the interviews
• Assist with data analysis
• Assist in preparing presentations, reports, and manuscripts
• Other tasks as required

Qualifications and Experience:
• Research-based Masters or in progress, in relevant field (e.g., social or health sciences, applied health services research) or equivalent
• Excellent communication skills with experience in conducting interviews
• Experience with qualitative research, including qualitative data analysis
• Excellent writing and organizational skills
• Experience with collaborative research an asset
• Experience with program evaluation an asset
• Familiarity with long-term care an asset
• Familiarity with appreciative inquiry an asset
• Ability to work independently, as well as within a collaborative, interprofessional team environment
• Experience with Microsoft Office, database search engines, qualitative analysis software (e.g., NVivo ), and reference management software (e.g., RefWorks)

Part time: Approximately 6-10 hours/week for 14 to 18 weeks (with the possibility of extension)

Rate: $18-22/hour, commensurate with qualifications and experience
