Tupper Medical Building Tim Hortons closing after Friday, May 15

Posted by Ancillary Services on May 12, 2015 in General Announcements

The Tim Hortons in the Tupper Medical Building will serve its last Double-Double when it closes Friday, May 15, at 3pm. When the university resumes operations on Tuesday, May 19, work will begin transforming the space from a Tim Hortons to a full-service Starbucks. Work on the new Starbucks is expected to continue until mid August. An exact date for when it will open will be announced around that time.

During the construction period, members of the Carleton campus community are invited to visit the Fillings Café in the Dentistry building for a selection of fair-trade coffee and snacks. Hours of operations during this time will be Monday to Thursday: 7:30am-3:30pm, and Fridays from 7:30am-3pm.

The new Starbucks will feature in-store seating, as well as a second entry/exit point for customers. The store will offer breakfast and lunch fare, including sandwiches, salads, and a selection of pastry options, as well as its standard variety of coffee, tea, and espresso. Hours of operation will be communicated closer to the opening date.

The decision to replace the Tim Hortons with a Starbucks was based largely on feedback from members of the Carleton campus community in a survey on food services conducted in 2013.

Updates and more information about the renovations and the new Starbucks will be shared throughout the summer. If you have any immediate questions, please contact Food Services at 494-2078 or by email at food@dal.ca.
