CallOUT! Join Dalhousie University at the Halifax Pride Parade

Posted by Communications & Marketing; Human Rights, Equity and Harassment Prevention on June 26, 2014 in General Announcements

Dalhousie University will have a contingent marching in the Halifax Pride Parade July 26th, and we would love to have you march with us!

Ready to walk? Please meet us at the Dockyards (where Cornwallis and Lower Water meet) between 12:30 and 12:45 p.m. in order to meet up with the rest of the Dal contingent (look for the Dal Security vehicle).

Prefer to cheer from the sidelines?
Join Res Life in front of the Architecture building (2410 Spring Garden Road) for face painting.

What does it mean if I march in the parade?

Your participation in the pride parade demonstrates that you actively support the Rainbow community at Dalhousie and in the larger community. We encourage you to show your support for our diverse campus community. You are not outing yourself by marching in the parade because the parade is open to the LGBTTQ community and allies/supporters. As well, your family & friends are more than welcome to march with us. The more the merrier!

What does marching in the pride parade entail?

The parade is the 4th largest in Canada and has been designated a Hallmark event by HRM. We hope that if you don't march, you come out to cheer us on! Dalhousie friends and family are welcome to gather at 5410 Spring Garden Rd. Res Life staff will be on hand to help with face paint!
