The summer sun arrived just in time for Dal's annual Strawberry Social event last week.
Hundreds of faculty and staff gathered on the Studley Quad in Halifax for strawberry ice cream sandwiches and strawberry-laden punch drinks as they celebrated the completion of another successful academic year.
"It's been a wonderful year for our students, our faculty, our research, our impact on our community, and today is just a small example of thanking you for it," said President Richard Florizone, who listed off a series of achievements in his brief remarks — from receiving the largest federal reserach grant in the country to celebrating Dal's 90th Rhodes Scholar.
The day was a chance to reflect, celebrate and spend time with colleagues before the summer months.
