Athletes of the week

The following students are Dal's Athletes of the Week (for the week ending Jan. 21):

Lauren Dorrington (Swimming) won each of the three events in which she competed at the Double Dual Meet versus UNB and Mount Allison. Lauren earned top honours in the 100m freestyle, the 200m individual medley and as a member of the 4x100m medley relay team. She led the Tigers to the team win as they swept 13 of 14 events at the meet. Lauren, a third year sociology student hails from Uxbridge, ON.

Niklas Rademacher (Pearce photo)

Niklas Rademacher (Volleyball) led the Tiger squad to a 3-1 record at this weekendÕs interlock play at Laval. The Tigers defeated Sherbrooke and McGill in straight sets, and took #10 ranked Montreal in four sets. The only loss for the team was in five sets to the host, Laval who is ranked # 7 in the CIS. He earned 70 kills (5.38 kills/game), 3 aces, 23 digs (1.77 digs/game) and 6 blocks for 79 points (6.08 points/game). Rademacher is a third year management student from Bocholt, Germany.
