Mid-Term Honours Thesis Presentations

Two of our Honours Students were unable to present their Mid-Term Honours’ Thesis Presentations in December and will now be presenting their work on Friday January 13th from 2:30-3:30pm in the LSC COMMON AREA Room C332.  All faculty, staff, and students in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences are welcome to join.

Each student will have 15 minutes to present the major components of their work to date.  The presentations will be followed by 5-7 minutes of questions from the audience (we allow the first question to be asked by the supervisor).    The schedule is as follows:

  Student Supervisor Thesis Title
2:35 - 3:00 Megan MacDonald Miao Zhang Machine Learning Focal Mechanism Inversion for Hydraulic Fracturing Induced Earthquakes
3:00 - 3:25 Levyn Radomske Peter Duinker The Characterization of the Relative Conifer Gradient form the Halifax Peninsula to the Hinterlands of the Halifax Regional Municipality

Please let me know if you plan on attending the presentations (tarah.wright@dal.ca) so that we make sure that we have enough capacity to seat everyone in the room (otherwise we will book another room and will send a note out 2 days before the event).
