Milligan Undergraduate Award

The Milligan Undergraduate Award for Excellence in Geology is awarded to an outstanding undergraduate student who has shown academic excellence and embodies good citizenship (the most supportive to fellow students or making a significant contribution to the community at large).

2021 Recipient 1 - Megan MacDonald
This year’s awardee is Megan MacDonald in recognition of her high academic record and her participation in a variety of school affairs. She is currently a third-year student pursuing a combined honours degree in Earth Science and Physics with a minor in Math. She was named to the Dean’s List in past years. She is the Communications Representative for the Physics Society, a Council Member on the Dalhousie Science Society (DSS), the DSS Representative for the Dawson Geology Society, and a member of the DSS Social and STEM Outreach Committees.

2021 Recipient 2 - Sana Salehi
This year’s awardee is Sana Salehi in recognition of her high academic record and supports for her fellow students and surrounding community. Sana is currently a second-year undergraduate student and double majoring in Earth and Environmental Sciences. She was named to the Dean’s List last term. She participated in The Duke of Edinburgh International Awards and Outward Bound, in which she helped out her classmates during the trips and overcame their comfort zones. She has taken an assistant position in an after-school gardening club, where she promotes eco-friendliness and awareness of today’s agricultural challenges throughout the secondary section.
