Two new professors have joined our Department this summer: Dr. Michael Freund and Dr. Saurabh Chitnis.
Michael is joining our department as Professor and also as the new Scientific Director of the CTRI (Clean Technologies Research Institute). He is returning to Canada from the Florida Institute of Technology where he held the positions of Professor and Head of Chemistry as well as Associate Dean of the College of Engineering and Science (Bio here). Saurabh is joining us after completing a Post-Doctoral Fellowships at the University of Bristol (Banting Fellowship) and the University of Toronto, and a PhD in Chemistry with Prof. Neil Burford at the University of Victoria (Bio here).

Welcome Back to Dalhousie Chemistry
The Department of Chemistry hosted a one-day event in conjunction with the Dal 200 celebrations on Wednesday, August 8th, 2018 at Dalhousie University in Halifax. The event featured many fun activities such as hands-on chemistry experiments for people of all ages, magic shows, liquid nitrogen ice-cream, lab tours, and short talks from department members.
