In 2013, Edward Snowden leaked shocking documentary evidence of global surveillance structures held within the National Security Agency. In its aftermath, we have become increasingly aware of the challenges and issues of online data creation and distribution. The blurring between our online and offline selves reveals the complex issues of information privacy, security and surveillance.

Social media platforms have radically altered our social interactions, but are we becoming too visible? Technology has revolutionized our world, but have we created enough safeguards and policies to ensure the protection of our personal data?

As we become increasingly digital citizens, it is clear that issues of privacy, security and surveillance impact the personal and professional lives of us all.

Join the Information Without Borders Conference for a series of exciting and interesting discussions with some of Canada’s leading privacy experts:

Closing Keynote: Dr. Jacquelyn Burkell, Assistant Dean, University of Western Ontario, with a breakout session given by Wayne MacKay, Professor of Law at Dalhousie University and a widely recognized Canadian expert on issues of constitutional law, human rights and cyber-bullying.
