Exam time is tough and intense. It can feel like a slog sitting in the same space hour after hour reviewing your notes or writing papers. One way you can lighten the mood and give yourself space is to change your spacelocation.
Dalhousie’s campus is full of options, to suit every mood and style. There are spaces where you can shut a door, and others that are wide open with lots of natural light. Some areas require silence, others are ‘quiet’ zones, and some are meant for group work, with lots of debate and conversation. Many locations operate on a first come first serve basis, but there’s also rooms you need to book in advance.
And if you’ve left your lunch on the counter, or have a sudden urge for sushi, campus can accommodate most of your whims and desires. So, break out, broaden your horizons, get to know your university a little bit better!

Killam Memorial Library
6225 University Ave
The Killam might just be the most popular study spot on campus, and that’s because it has it all. There’s a mix of quiet floors, group study areas, and lots of seating and eating possibilities.
- Collider (collaborative learning space), where you can do group work
- Study rooms are available to book throughout the Killam Library

The Rowe is a bright and social space, perfect for studying in groups, or as an individual. Even on cloudy days the atrium is full of light, and it’s a wide open space, so you don’t feel locked in.
- Couches and chairs throughout the atrium
- Study rooms are available for booking from 3rd to 5th floor by visiting the reception in suite 4004 to book or use the campus booking portal.
- Richard S. Brookfield Media Loft study area on the second floor.
