Embedding IPE in a Course
Linking learning experiences
Interprofessional learning opportunities can be enriched by connecting or embedding the experience within a course. This structure offers the unique opportunity where learners and faculty members can draw upon course-specific discipline content within an interprofessional context. A well crafted interaction and assignment can lead to an enriched learning experience where both discipline specific and interprofessional competencies can be evaluated. These carefully designed and linked learning experiences are often well received by learners who report the embedded interprofessional experiences not only facilitated their course content knowledge development, it also provided them with the context and confidence for how their discipline contributes to collaborative care.
