CASPer Requirement

All applicants to Dalhousie University’s Masters of Science in Physiotherapy are required to complete a mandatory 90-minute computer-based test (CASPer), to assist with our selection process. Successful completion of CASPer is mandatory to maintain admission eligibility. Applicants who do not complete CASPer will not be considered. CASPer screening dates are available here.

CASPer assesses for non-cognitive skills and interpersonal characteristics we believe are important for successful students and graduates of our program and will complement our other applicant screening tools. For more information on the use of CASPer for these purposes, please watch this short video.

To take the CASPer, you will be responsible for securing access to a computer with audio capabilities, a webcam, and a reliable internet connection on your selected test date. CASPer can be taken practically anywhere these requirements are satisfied.

To see examples of the test structure, schedule your test and take CASPer on your chosen test date, please visit Information can be found under the heading of Canadian Health Sciences. Look for “Dalhousie University Physical Therapy”.

For our admissions, applicants CASPer score will be combined with their GPA in a ratio of 40% : 60% respectively, to create an interview selection score. The interview selection score will be ranked and students will be selected for a School of Physiotherapy interview based on this ranking.
