Alumni & Friends

Keep in touch and stay connected

In 1912, the Faculty of Dentistry graduated its first four students: Drs. J.A. Burke, A.B. Crowe, A.W. Faulkner and H.S. Tolson. Long gone, but not forgotten, these four are among more than 3,400 graduates of the Faculty of Dentistry and School of Dental Hygiene.

One hundred years later in 2012, we commemorated our Centennial with a four-day conference attended by more than 1,100 alumni, faculty, staff, students and friends. We also became the first Canadian institution recognized by the ADEA Gies Foundation with the William J. Gies Award for Achievement (Academic Dental Institution).

Our alumni have connections to more than 60 countries worldwide. Many are a driving force of our faculty. Many have served as presidents of regional, national and international dentistry and dental hygiene associations, deans of other dentistry schools, sought-after educators and clinicians, top researchers and other notable industry leaders.

We encourage you to stay connected to your alma mater. Please view the opportunities to get involved in our alumni programming, or contact Jon Bruhm, Alumni Officer at alumni.dentistry@dal.ca or (902) 494-2431.
