Study in Ecuador or Ghana

International Development Studies (IDST) at Trent offers unique year abroad programs that provide students the opportunity to spend a full academic year in Ghana. IDST Year Abroad Programs are part of the IDST curriculum, and combine university course work in a developing country context with valuable hands-on experience through a community placement. Students receive full year course credit, all transferable to Dalhousie.

Trent-in Ghana

• Based in Accra, Ghana’s capital in the South and Tamale, in the Northern Region 
• Sept.- December:
  • partake in classes offered by Ghanaian academics and professionals
  • participate in field trips
  • live with a Ghanaian host family
• Jan.- April:  undertake a twelve week placement with a development or community-based organisation
