Dalhousie Pride Events 2024!

Halifax Pride Parade:
Students, alumni, faculty, and staff are invited to join the Dalhousie University group marching in the Halifax Pride Parade on Saturday, July 20, 2024. The parade begins at 12:00 p.m. (rain or shine), and if you would like to march with Dalhousie University’s contingent we ask that you please arrive by 11:30 a.m. The marshalling area is along Cogswell Street on the Halifax Commons. Dalhousie’s parade number will be provided by organizers two weeks before the event. MORE DETAILS.

Progress Pride Flag Raising: On behalf of Student Affairs, the Office for Equity & Inclusion, and all of the faculty, staff, and students on the Pride Planning Committee, we welcome the entire Dalhousie community to join us as we raise the Progress Pride Flag on Tuesday, July 9 at 2:00 p.m. in the Studley Quad. A free BBQ on the Killam Library Podium will follow the flag raising.

Big Gay Film Fest Screenings: Big Gay Film Fest will be screening three movies this month, including But I'm A Cheerleader on July 10, The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert on July 17, and The Queen Of My Dreams on July 24. The screenings will be held on the Sexton Campus Commons (entrance through Richard Murray Design Building, 5257 Morris Street). You're welcome to bring your own blankets and lawn chairs. If the weather doesn't cooperate, the film will be shown indoors in the Richard Murray Building Design Commons (same entrance). Free to the public! Doors will open at 8:30 p.m. for each screening, and the films will begin at dusk. MORE DETAILS.

About the space

In-person appointments take place in Olivia's office in the Student Accessibility Centre in Halifax (Note: NOT the Mark A. Hill Centre). The Student Accessibility Centre is in the Killam Memorial Library, via the first door on the right when you enter the University Avenue entrance. You may check in at the front desk, and Olivia will meet you and bring you back to her office. There are two large armchairs to choose from, with other chair options nearby. This is an interior office with a window to the Killam Atrium, and is lit by lamps (no overhead lights).
