What inspires me
The Chinese musical elements in Dun Tan’s works, how the Chinese folk music connects to the Western compositional techniques, and how to integrate the oriental culture and the Chinese philosophy into his works.
Awards, honours and experience
- BA and MA degree in music performance from the Tianjin Conservatory of Music in Free Bass Bayan Accordion.
- Studied how to transplant Couperin’s works into an accordion repertoire, and did research in how to practice and play his works on the free bass accordion.
- Was a piano teacher at Edvox Music School in Singapore.
- Performed as piano accompanist in ABRSM examination twice every year.
