Announcing ArcticNet's Phase IV (2015‑2018) Research Program

Posted by Alana Milner on June 29, 2015 in Announcements

Following a general Call for Proposals launched in late 2014, ArcticNet is pleased to announce the funding of 41 new projects as part of ArcticNet’s Phase IV research program (2015-2018).

Initiated on 01 April 2015, the 41 projects involve over 130 researchers and hundreds of students and staff from 34 universities across Canada that collaborate with stakeholders from Inuit organizations, northern communities, research institutes, industry as well as government and international agencies, contributing to ArcticNet’s unique, multi-disciplinary and cross-sector program. Along with aircraft and shiptime support provided for access to remote Arctic research sites, this represents a direct annual cash contribution of over $7.5M for the next 3 years in support of Arctic research by the Networks of Centres of Excellence of Canada. This investment by the NCE program is leveraged manyfold by ArcticNet partner organisations.

Descriptions of the new projects can be found under Current Projects in the Research section of the ArcticNet website. Further information regarding project participants, collaborators, publications and partners will be added over the coming months.

Detailed information on projects funded from 2004-2015 is available under Past Projects. These ArcticNet-supported projects have produced over 2000 refereed and 4600 non-refereed publications on multiple Arctic issues. Most of these publications are available on the ArcticNet Publications Database.

Please contact ArcticNet or individual ArcticNet project leaders should you have any questions regarding the Phase IV research program.
