Antibiotic use and resistance in livestock
This week is World Antibiotic Awareness week; a week aimed at raising awareness about antibiotic resistance amongst the general public, healthcare workers and policy makers. Antibiotic resistance does not just occur amongst the human population; Dalhousie has researchers available to provide perspective on what antibiotics are used for in livestock, what antibiotic resistance is, what leads to resistance and why this is an area of concern in the agricultural industry.
