Shark necropsy gives Dalhousie students the inside look of an endangered species.

Surrounded by experts in the field, students in the Seaside Summer Shark Course were given the experience of a life time by witnessing the necropsy of a Great White shark. This hands on experience is a rarity, as the Great White remains as elusive as they are infamous.

Shark conservation, social dimensions, and behaviour are hot button topics at The Diving into Shark Conservation & Research panel. 

Warming waters due to climate change was one of many topics discussed at a recent event that brought together a group of Dalhousie scientists to share their knowledge, understanding and passion for shark research and conservation.

Biodiversity App: How Dalhousie educators hope to garner interest in urban biodiversity
 

The Biodiversity Working Group, including Biology Faculty members Dr. Gabrielle Tompkins and Lara Gibson, uses a blend of nature and technology to give a unique level of learning to students. Learning from the green areas on campus, students study native plants and insects with a community-driven biodiversity app.
