Lindsay Construction partners with Dal to build a prosperous future

Posted by Faculty of Management on May 10, 2013 in News

President of Lindsay Construction and Dalhousie University alumnus Cory Bell is demonstrating that it is never too early to build a legacy. In partnership with Dalhousie’s Executive Education Program, the Lindsay Construction Executive Leadership Program launches today. For Cory Bell, it’s about more than simply ensuring his people have a chance to grow their capabilities. It’s about driving change throughout the construction industry.

“Developing your people is key to any organization’s growth and prosperity. But we want more than that. We want to set an example for our suppliers, partners and clients. By partnering with Dalhousie to launch the Lindsay Construction Executive Leadership Program, we hope to set off a chain of events that will raise the profile of companies throughout our industry,” said Bell. He added that Dalhousie’s unique approach – delivering cohort-based Executive Education that adapts teaching and learning approaches to the client’s context – is in line with their mandate to be on the cutting edge.

“The Faculty of Management and the Rowe School of Business hold experiential learning to be a key pillar of our strategy. We’re pleased to welcome Lindsay Construction into the company of an elite group of partners who have chosen us to engage and challenge their teams – including the IMP Group and the Halifax Port Authority,” said Peggy Cunningham, Dean of the Faculty of Management.

Participants in the Program are hand-selected by their senior management teams. The Executive Education Program was developed through discussions and relationships with key partners in the business community, and then shaped to fit the specific needs of each participating company. World-class professors are committed to engaging and challenging students so their skills and competencies will continue to improve. “Our educators know that the strengthened relationships that develop during cohort-based learning are integral to the delivery model,” said Rachel Sumner, Director, Executive Education.
