Barbara Kelly

Barbara Kelly works as a senior clinical instructor within the School of Physiotherapy contributing her expertise and experience to the labs, lectures and tutorials for both first and second year students. In addition, she works clinically and in research at the IWK specializing in paediatric neurology.

Barbara received her Diploma in Physiotherapy from University College of Dublin, Ireland then went on to earn both her Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy and MSc Rehabilitation Research from Dalhousie University.

Ms. Kelly is a dedicated educator and clinician and over the years has been extensively involved in the community including chairing the Paediatric Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. She currently sits on the Board of Halifax Dance and on the Board of the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapists.

Laura McCrossin

Laura McCrossin is an instructor primarily involved in Module 4 and Module 8 at the Dalhousie School of Physiotherapy. Laura has worked in numerous physiotherapy clinical settings, however her main interest lies in wound healing and burn rehabilitation.

Prior to moving back to Nova Scotia, Laura was a member of the burns/wound care team at the Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary, Alberta for six years. This interest led her to complete a Master of Clinical Science in Wound Healing through Western University in 2013.  During her studies at Western, Laura was involved in research pertaining to the role of exercise in chronic lower leg ulcers. Laura is member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Wound Care Collaborative, and is also a member with the Canadian Association of Wound Care.

Lauren Singh

Lauren Singh is responsible for the coordination and delivery of the cardiorespiratory and health promotion curriculum at Dalhousie’s School of Physiotherapy. Lauren has experience in a variety of public health settings - her main interest lies in health promotion as it relates to chronic disease.

Prior to taking on her role as instructor, Lauren was a physiotherapist with the Cystic Fibrosis Adult Team for the Maritimes, while also working in the Nova Scotia Health Authority's (NSHA) cardiovascular ICU. During her time with NSHA, Lauren redeveloped the CF physiotherapy management guidelines, created CF education for staff, and streamlined documentation standards within cardiac surgery. Having worked with Dalhousie physiotherapy students as a clinical instructor at NSHA, Lauren now enjoys the opportunity of enriching their theoretical learning with practical application in the classroom.
Nancy Walker

Nancy Walker works to help oversee the physiotherapy labs in the master's curriculum at the School of Physiotherapy as a lecturer and demonstrator. She has worked clinically in three provinces in both the private and public sector with clients across the lifespan primarily in orthopaedics.

She brings to the university her many years of clinical experience, and a love of working with students. Additional interests include extensive involvement in the autism community and committee work which includes the areas of mental health and patient centered care.
