Biography

Karen Curry is an Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing and teaches Population Health Nursing, Public Health Nursing, Introduction to Epidemiology Methods in Nursing Practice and Professional Formation.  Karen is an experienced community health nurse leader with over 25 years of practice, mainly in-home health care with the Victorian Order of Nurses (VON). For the past 10 years, she has worked in Professional Practice for the VON supporting nurses and unregulated care providers’ practice. As Practice Educator Consultant, Karen advocated for practice change initiatives to develop community health nurse capacity. She completed her Master's in Nursing in 2014 from Athabasca University, with a focus on teaching. Karen has been involved with the Community Health Nurses of Canada (CHNC) for over 10 years in a variety of roles and is presently the President-elect for CHCN.
