Congratulations to our faculty, staff, students, alumni and friends on their recent achievements:

  • Social Work student Ngozi Otti was chosen as a Canadian delegate for the 61st session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women.  Ngozi participated in the session at UN Headquarters in New York from March 13 - 24, and tweeted about her experiences.
  • Nursing professor Shauna Houk recently received the Canadian Nursing Students Association (CSNA) Honorary Contribution Award.  Shauna was nominated by her students for the award in recognition of her mentorship and support of the Dalhousie CSNA chapter. Learn more on the CSNA website.
  • A team from the Radiological Technology program in the School of Health Sciences, led by Catherine Gunn and Carol Gillis, is collaborating with Oslo and Akershus University to establish international cooperation in higher education between Canada and Norway.  The project, funded in the amount of 162,000 NOK by The Norwegian Centre for International Cooperation in Education, aims to develop a joint curriculum for a bachelors thesis course as well as support student and instructor excahnge between the two Universities.  The project team also includes Rachel MacLeod, Stephanie Lea and Amy Monroe from the School of Health Sciences, and Brian Martell, director of Diagnostic Imaging at the QEII
  • Students, faculty and staff in the Burbidge, Forrest and Dentistry Buildings are all familiar with Carol - the smiling face behind the Fillings counter.  Occupational Therapy student Nikita Edgar wanted to give back and recognize Carol for her committment and positivity, so she worked with fellow students in the OT Class of 2018, as well as Dentistry and Dental Hygiene students to present Carol with a "Staff Excellence Award."  On March 23, forty staff, students and faculty members surprised Carol at work, presenting her with flowers and gifts.  Congrats Carol - thanks for all you do!
