Launched earlier this month, The Health Institute is off to a great start – with a number of non-credit courses already in progress. There are still opportunities to get involved, with the following non-credit courses currently accepting students:
- Anatomy of the Hand and Wrist
- Assessment of the Hand
- Assessment of Motor and Process Skills - AMPS
- Disability Case Management - Best Practices and Intentional Communications
- Foundations in Clinical and Professional Education (3 modules available)
- Module A: Introduction to Adult Education
- Module B: Clinical Education
- Module C: The importance of Lifelong Learning
- Motivational Interviewing
- Sleepwell Nova Scotia
Most non-credit courses are open to faculty, students, staff and the general public, and are offered in either online or on-campus formats.
The Health Institute also includes a variety of credit courses, including the Faculty’s new certificates in Mental Health and Addictions and Interdisciplinary Health Studies.
A number of public events will also be offered under The Health Institute, including the Townsend Lecture "Participation after stroke" with Dr. Johanne Desrosiers from Universite de Sherbrooke on May 5 from 5:00 - 6:30 in Room 150 of the Collaborative Health Education Building. Watch the website for details on an upcoming book launch of “Licit, Illicit, Prescribed: Substance Use and Occupational Therapy” by Dr. Niki Kiepek of the School of Occupational Therapy.
