Congratulations to our students, staff, faculty, alumni and friends on their recent achievements:

• School of Health Sciences faculty member Kathy Spurr was named the world's top-ranked indoor rower for her age group.  Kathy also took the top prize for her age group at the recent Atlantic Indoor Rowing Championship.  Read more about Kathy's acheivement.
• Social Work's Merlinda Weinberg has been awarded a Senior Fellowship at Durham University under the Durham International Fellowships for Research and Enterprise Scheme.  Durham University is one of the world top 100 universities, ranked fifth in the United Kingdom.  Dr. Weinberg will be a scholar-in-residence for three months in 2017, collaborating with Dr. Sarah Banks on research and a book manuscript on the topic of contextual ethics in Social Work.
• Master of Nursing students Tim Disher, supervised by Marsha Campbell-Yeo and Joelle Monahagn, supervised by Audrey Steenbeek; along with PhD in Nursing student Christine Cassidy are this years recipients of the Ruby Blois Scholarship.  Awarded by the IWK, the scholarship provides funding for graduate studies in Nursing.
• PhD Nursing student Britney Benoit has been awarded a CIHR Vanier Scholarship.  The Vanier Scholarship is valued at $50,000 per year for three years, and is awarded to doctoral students who demonstrate both leadership skills and a high level of scholarly achievement in the social sciences and humanities, natural sciences and engineering or health sciences.  Britney is supervised by Nursing faculty members Ruth Martin-Misener and Marsha Campbell-Yeo.
• Class of 2015 audiology graduate Laura Hart was awarded the National Clinical Certification Exam Award by Speech-Language Audiology Canada (SAC) in recognition of attaining the highest score on the audiology clinical certification exam for 2016.  Laura was presented with her award at the bi-annual SAC conference in Halifax on April 29.
