- Congratulations to Claire Brousseau, a third-year student in the Respiratory Therapy program, who recently took home top student speaker honours at the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapy (CRST) education conference and trade show. Claire had her abstract chosen from applicants across Canada to present at the CRST event this past May.
- Pharmacy's Dr. Ingrid Sketris was one of the expert panelists on the recently released study "Optimizing Scopes of Practice: New Models of Care for a New Health Care System" from the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences.
- Dr. Ingrid Sketris was also the recipent of a Wellspring Award, which fosters personal leadership development in pharmacy. Dr. Sketris has used the award to register in the Leadership Management Certificate Program at the American College of Clinical Pharmacy.
- Congratulations to Allan Horsburgh, a sessional lecturer in the School of Health Administration, who recently published "Dollars and Sense in Healthcare". The book is currently being used by healthcare leaders, and as a university text.
- Congratulations to Master of Health Administration graduate Alana Rondeau (MHA 2013), who was the recipient of the first Nova Scotia Long Term Care Health Administration Fellowship. The fellowship - which is a partnership between the School of Health Administration, Glen Haven Manor and Nursing Homes of Nova Scotia - is a twelve month program to provide Masters of Health Administration graduates with advanced post-graduate training in complex health systems.
- Congratulations to Dr. Marsha Campbell-Yeo of the School of Nursing who was awarded a Mayday Pain and Society Fellowship. The Fellowship provides pain care leaders with skills to communicate effectively about pain, the impact it has on quality of life, and its implications on clinical and policy issues. As part of the Fellowship, Dr. Campbell-Yeo will attend an intensive communications workshop in Washington D.C., working closely with media and policy coaches.
- Congratulations to Susan French, who was recently appointed as an Officer of the Order of Canada. Susan, a retired Dalhousie Nursing faculty member, was recognized for her achievements in the field of nursing education in Canada and abroad.
