Recognition for the success of the WeAreAllCS initiative has come fast and furious this year, with the latest honour coming at the Dalhousie Legacy Awards Wednesday when the working group of staff, faculty and students spearheading the initiative took home one of the President's Awards for the Advancement of Equity, Diversity and Inclusiveness.

A game of cards in his first year led student Elliott Darbyshire to a different degree program and a world of opportunities in computer science. Two GPA awards and an exchange to South Korea later, he’s confident it was a wise choice.
Computer Science student Mariam Ragab and Management / Sustainability student Hayat Showail share a similar commitment to building community and breaking down barriers in the process. Now, they also share one of Canada’s top student honours: a 3M National Student Fellowship, awarded to just 10 undergrads annually.
