To comply with Hong Kong SAR Immigration requirements for student visas, exchange students must take a full-time load, consisting of 12 to 18 credit units per semester.

Courses

Undergraduate course catalogue

Exchange students are normally allowed to take courses only at undergraduate level (course level: B1-B4) unless approved otherwise.

For courses with pre-requisites, a student must have taken courses considered equivalent to the pre-requisites.

Some courses with capacity limits do not accept exchange students.

Exchange students may take courses outside CSE, subject to the approval of the departments concerned, but must take at least 9 credit units from courses offered by CSE departments.

Accommodation

Exchange students may apply for accommodation in student residence, however, the provision of on-campus accommodation is not guaranteed due to limited spaces. Accommodation in student residence is not available during term break between Semesters A and B.

Visa Requirements

Exchange students require a student visa. Details and procedures can be found at http://www.immd.gov.hk and http://www.cityu.edu.hk/meao. Students are encouraged to apply for student visas via CityU. CityU may act as local sponsor of exchange students who are accepted for admission and meet Hong Kong visa application requirements.
