Language of Instruction
German and English. The MSc in Autonomous Systems is offered completely in English. Only few courses in the BA and Master programmes in Computer Science are in English, so it is recommended that you have a knowledge of German sufficient for studying in these and other courses at BRSU Sankt Augustin campus.

Although special evaluation arrangements will be made to allow Dalhousie students to return to Halifax after BRSU classes have ended, classes in the BRSU Summer and Winter semesters overlap the following Dalhousie Summer and Winter terms by two months and one month, respectively.
Course Load
Exchange students must take a full time course load of at least 30 ECTS credits per semester.

Graduate courses are available only to graduate students.
For courses with pre-requisites, a student must have taken courses considered equivalent to the pre-requisites.
Some courses with capacity limits do not accept exchange students.
Exchange students may take any BRSU courses, subject to the approval of the relevant department and language of instruction requirements.

Visa Requirements
Unless you have a passport of a European Union country, you will need a Student Visa, granted by the German Embassy/Consulate in your home country. A Student Visa allows stays of up to three months, following whichit is necessary to apply for an eAT (electronic residence permit):
Check with the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs for regulations on immigration and residency. Following your arrival in Germany make sure to register as soon as possible to be granted a residence permit.
Insurance
Health Insurance is mandatory for all international students before enrolment. Some German health insurance companies accept online applications.
