Research and Creative Activity

Research is in the area of creative practice: acting, directing and coaching actors for theatre and film.

Samantha has performed nationally and internationally for over 20 years. She has directed and taught for companies across Canada including: Sheridan College, Mount Allison University and Dalhousie University. From 2016- 2018 she was the Crake Fellow in Drama at Mount Allison University.  Samantha was the Director of Neptune Theatre's Professional Touring Company and the head of the Neptune's Professional Training Program (Acting) from 2005-2010. Samantha was a co-founder of DMV Theatre, a Halifax based company in 2007.

Highlights of her directing credits include: Sexy Laundry (Theatre Baddeck); In the Next Room or the Vibrator Play (Sheridan College); The Secret in the Wings (Dalhousie University); Strawberries in January (Live Bait Theatre); Really Really, Unity: 1918 (Mount Allison University); Shape of a Girl, Liars (Neptune Theatre); Tuesdays and Sundays (Ship’s Company Theatre); Munsch in Time (Festival Antigonish).  Samantha has worked in film and tv on Night Blooms, S&V, Trailer Park Boys, Haven, Queer as Folk, Legends, So Close and A Love in the Darkness.

Samantha was a member of ACTRA Council for four years and has been a board member of Theatre NS since 2015. She currently sits on the jury of the Nova Scotia Talent Trust.
