Dylan Hay (He/They) is a Sound Designer, Multi-instrumentalist, Composer/Songwriter, Audio Engineer and Educator based in K’jipuk’tuk (Halifax). Their Performance career has a wide compass, including work as a Trombonist with Reggae artist Jah’mila, and with Improvising ensemble the Upstream Orchestra. They play Trombone and Keyboard with Pop-Soul artist Avery Dakin, electric bass with Jazz Fusion group Under The Bus, and is a frequent collaborator with Rhythmm Dance company.

Dylan completed a Bachelor of Music at Dalhousie’s Fountain School of Performing Arts, where they worked as a Composer, Sound Designer and Musical Director on several FSPA Theatre Productions. Recent work includes Sound Design for Dead Man Walking (Anomaly Theatre co.) performances at Halifax Jazz Festival, Stan Rogers Folk Festival and Novafest, composition and sound design for Park Boundaries podcast, and recording engineering for the audio drama Transfigure Transfix (Around and out Theatre co.)
