Using small group activities can help build community and establish peer communication and connection. Setting up group discussions requires some knowledge of the Discussion Board hierarchy and how group restriction settings work within the Brightspace system. We recently published an instruction sheet on Small Group Discussions which will walk you through two methods of creating groups and assigning them to discussions.
