Advances in Stable Isotope Techniques and Applications (ASITA 2024) conference in Halifax, Nova Scotia

The CERC.OCEAN laboratory, led by Dr. Douglas Wallace, is pleased to host the Advances in Stable Isotope Techniques and Applications (ASITA) Conference in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. The conference will take place at 5793 University Avenue (Google Map) from June 16th to 19th, 2024.

The focus of the conference continues to be on methodology advancements, technical challenges, and novel applications of stable isotopes.  This conference has a reputation for being an informal forum for discussing and solving technical challenges, for which we are looking forwards to another great meeting this year!

Conference Agenda

June 16 (Sunday)

  • A day of short courses with focueses on EA & GC peripherals, basic isotope analysis, instrument operation & troubleshooting, data manipulation. 
  • A workshop will be held on the topic of gas regulators. 
  • This day will conclude with an icebreaker reception.

June 17 - 19 (Monday - Wednesday)

  • Full day oral and poster presentations*

* Instrument users and vendors are encouraged to participate and present their work related to new techniques or applications of stable isotopes. Please contact us for questions regarding to potential talks and/or posters.

June 19 (Wednesday) : Afternoon

Lab tours of the CERC.OCEAN lab and Dr. Owen Sherwood’s lab in the Steele Ocean Science Building of Dalhousie University.
