Funding from Grand Challenges Canada

Posted by Jaq-Lin Larder on July 12, 2021 in Research Funding

The goal of the Options for Pregnancy Termination Innovation Initiative (“OPTions Initiative”) is to support “Bold Ideas with Big Impact” for women’s and girls’ and people with diverse sexual and gender identities’ access to safe abortion in low- and middle-income countries. They are seeking innovative and transformative approaches that put women, girls and people with diverse sexual and gender identities in control of where, when, and how they terminate their pregnancy. Canadian researchers are eligible to submit projects that support the development and testing of next generation methods of pregnancy termination, menses induction or conception interruption.

Successful proposals will be awarded seed grants of up to $250,000 CAD over 18 to 24 months to develop and test the proposed innovation.

Please contact Erin Murphy (erin.murphy@dal.ca) in ORS if you are interested in this opportunity.
