The CRF has $13.6M available to support this second public call for proposals. DFO will take a more targeted approach to this round of funding that will:
- Focus on regional priority areas, that have the greatest strategic value;
- Prioritize regional activities with the greatest benefit to specific different coastal ecosystems threats; and
- Reduce project sizes and funding in order to support more initiatives (i.e., $100,000 to $500,000 per year for 3 years).
In this regard, the Maritime region regional priorities include:
Priority Areas
- Atlantic coast of Nova Scotia for areas with important nearshore fisheries; and
- Bras d’Or Lake.
Priority Activities
- Coastal restoration planning; and
- Eelgrass restoration, restoration of rocky habitat structures, and restoration of migratory corridors.
Additional information on the program and the application process can be found on the CRF website. The website provides supplementary information concerning eligibility and requirements, as well as the Expression of Interest (EoI) Form, and its guidance document.
Please do not hesitate to contact Tony Henderson at DFO.MAR.CRF-FRC.MAR.MPO@dfo-mpo.gc.ca for more information on the CRF.
Deadline: December 27, 2018
