How to Book an Appointment Online

Dalhousie (Halifax) and Kings students and registered community patients can book an appointment with the Student Health & Wellness Centre using our online booking system.

If this is your first appointment at the Student Health & Wellness Centre, you will need to phone our front desk to set up your online profile before you can book an appointment. Please phone the clinic during operating hours at 902-494-2171.

Choosing your appointment type

  • You will have two options for booking your appointment. You can “Book by Appointment Type”, such as a nursing appointment, doctor’s appointment, counselling appointment or an appointment with our social worker. Or, if you know the name of the health professional you need to book an appointment with, you can “Book by Provider”.
  • Through both options, you will be directed to our online booking system Medeo Health. Here you will select the appointment type or health professional you would like to book with.
  • Once you have selected the appointment type or provider, you will click “Next” to proceed.

Selecting the date and time / signing in

  • Next you will choose any appointment that works with your schedule and needs.
  • Note: Counselling appointments open at 8am M-F and 11am on Saturdays. If you are trying to book a counselling appointment and you do not see any options for that day, this means that all appointments have been booked for that day. You can check back early the following day, phone the clinic at 902-494-2171 to book in with another health professional who may be able to help, or you can contact the Good2Talk phone line at 1-833-292-3698.
  • Once you have selected your appointment, click “Next”.  You will then be asked to sign into the Medeo booking system.
  • If you haven’t signed up before, you must click “Sign Up” and use the email address you have on file at the Student Health & Wellness Centre to create your online booking account.
  • If you have signed up for Medeo before, use your email address and password to sign in to finish booking your appointment. If for any reason, you have trouble signing into Medeo, you can click “Forgot your password” to retrieve your password or you can contact Medeo Patient Support for assistance.
  • Note: You must use the same email address that we have on file at the Student Health & Wellness Centre, otherwise the system cannot connect the booking to your profile.

Review and confirm

  • Once you’ve signed on, you will be asked what the reason for your appointment is. You do not need to provide a reason if you are seeking a counselling appointment. Just type N/A in this field to move to the next screen. If you are booking a medical appointment, this information can be helpful to ensure that you are booking the correct appointment type to suit your needs.
  • You will be asked to review your appointment request information, and if everything looks correct, you can proceed by clicking “Request”.
  • You will be sent an email and/or text message confirming we have received your appointment request and it is being reviewed.
  • Once we have reviewed your appointment, you will either receive confirmation that your appointment was accepted, or a message saying your appointment was declined. Appointments can be declined for a few different reasons.

Declined appointments

If your appointment is declined, you can log in to your Medeo account to see the reason why or call the Student Health & Wellness Centre during operating hours to discuss your options. Often we are just missing a key piece of information in order to process your request, so please give us a call to finalize your booking.

If you run into any issues with booking your appointment online, you can phone the clinic at 902-494-2171 for assistance or to book your appointment over the phone.

Appointment reminders and cancellations

Two days before your appointment, you will receive a text and/or email reminder of your upcoming appointment. Click to confirm your appointment so that we know you are ready for your appointment. You may also be asked to confirm whether your appointment needs to be in-person, or virtually through zoom or the telephone. You must be located in Nova Scotia to attend a virtual appointment. If you need to cancel your appointment, be sure to cancel 24 hours in advance to avoid any no-show fees. You can cancel your appointment using our online cancellation form or by calling the clinic at 902-494-2171.
