Frequently Asked Questions:

As a current Dalhousie student, what happens if I change faculty or program during my degree?

All Dalhousie students who wish to change their degree programs are required to apply to their new program before being granted admission.

This applies to students who are seeking to transfer to a different degree program within the same faculty. If your application for the new program is approved, you will receive a new admission offer, which will also come with a revision of your tuition and fees based on current rates specific to the program.

***For international students, this change may involve moving from a program that is not covered by the tuition guarantee to a program where the guarantee applies.

Why am I being charged tuition for a program that my degree is not in?

Tuition fees are assessed at the approved rate for each course selected rather than the degree to which you have been admitted. For example, if you are in a Computer Science degree but take an Arts course, you will be charged Arts tuition for this course.

Can I opt out of the U-Pass?

The U-Pass fee can be opted-out if the opt-out eligibility requirements are met. Please see https://www.dal.ca/campus_life/UPass/opting-out.html for more information.

Can I opt out of the Health Insurance(s)?

Why am I being charged a late fee when I registered on time?

Students are expected to register and pay the term fees on or before the specified registration dates.
