Career opportunities

Globally, it’s estimated that nanotechnology will directly employ more than two million people – and will attract approximately C$250 billion in investment each year – by 2015.

Canada is fast emerging as a world leader in many aspects of nanotechnology. This country is currently developing a broad infrastructure to support this sector – including, most recently, our $52.2 million, 20,000 square metre National Institute for Nanotechnology research centre.

It’s easy to understand, then, why conservative estimates expect approximately 400 Canadian positions to be available to nanotechnology graduates by 2015.

And with our program offering a perfect blend of board academic knowledge, international experience in top laboratories, exposure to top teams, hands-on industrial experience and advanced professional skills, it’s hardly surprising that our trainees’ career prospects are excellent.
