Dr. Ellen Jopling will join Dalhousie’s Department of Psychology and Neuroscience on July 1, arriving with a 2026 Banting Discovery Award that supports early-career researchers launching their programs. Her work examines how early-life stress affects long-term mental and physical health in children and adolescents, with a focus on improving early support for at-risk youth. Previously a Banting Postdoctoral Fellow at Harvard Medical School and Boston Children’s Hospital, she also recently secured a SSHRC Insight Development Grant. Her arrival strengthens Dalhousie’s clinical psychology research capacity and reflects the department’s continued research excellence.
