Alison Froese Stoddard, who is entering the second year of the Master of Library and Information Studies program, is the author of a paper published in the 2013 volume of the Journal of the Royal Nova Scotia Historical Society. Based on a paper she presented in the Society’s public lecture series, “’Making Room for Wildlife and Tourists’: Contrasting Visions over Preserved Landscapes at the Proposed Ship Harbour National Park,” Alison’s published paper describes the extraordinary history of a national park that was never approved, which led to significant changes in Parks Canada practices regarding public involvement in policy development. Further details about the Journal of the Royal Nova Scotia Historical Society are available at www.rnshs.ca and online through libraries that provide access to the journal through a Proquest license.
