Doing Business in Emerging Markets

Do you want an exciting opportunity to travel to an emerging market?

Thanks to a generous donation from Export Development Canada (EDC), the Rowe School of Business is offering an exciting opportunity for 14 students to travel as part of an international experience course, “Doing Business in Emerging Markets.” The calendar description is shown below, along with some important dates for you to consider. The program began in 2017 with the first group of students visiting China. Previous year’s students have visited Chile, Peru, Argentina, Southeast Asia and India. This year's trip location will be Brazil!

Students will be selected from each of the school’s programs (BComm, BMgmt and CRMBA) to participate in the course. You will be working in small groups with Canadian businesses interested in exploring expansion opportunities in the host country. The course will conclude with a week and a half trip to the country we study, where you will participate in corporate visits, meet with Government Trade Officers, as well as visits to major tourist destinations.  In addition to your regular tuition fees, the only costs you will incur are:

  • a $1,500 non-refundable deposit upon acceptance to the program;
  • the fee to obtain a travel visa;
  • your lunches and dinners while travelling
  • any spending money you wish to take.

All other expenses including airfare, hotels, breakfasts, transportation, and tours will be covered by the program!
