Doing Business in Emerging Markets

Do you want an exciting opportunity to travel to Chile and Peru?

Thanks to a generous donation from Export Development Canada, Northstar Trade Finance, and the Thomas J Bata International Business Program, the Rowe School of Business is offering an exciting opportunity for 12 students to travel as part of a new course, “Doing Business in Emerging Markets.” The calendar description is shown below, along with some important dates for you to consider. The first year of the program was a huge success with 12 students travelling to China in May of 2017. This year’s program will involve a trip to Santiago, Chile and Lima, Peru.

Four students from each of the school’s programs (BComm, BMgmt and CRMBA) will be selected to participate in the course. You will be working in small groups with Atlantic Canadian businesses interested in exploring expansion opportunities in Chile and Peru. The course will conclude with a two-week trip to Chile and Peru, where you will participate in corporate visits in Santiago and Lima as well as visits to major tourist destinations.  In addition to your regular tuition fees, the only costs you will incur are a $500 non-refundable deposit upon acceptance to the program, the fee to obtain a travel visa, your lunches and dinners while travelling, and any spending money you wish to take. All other expenses including airfare, hotels, breakfasts, transportation and tours will be covered by the program.
